Ilay Cohen and Raz Bukobza grew up and were educated in Moshav Beit Nehemiah in Central Israel. (Upon completion of their military service, the lifelong friends) went on an extended trip to South America in March 2023, and when they returned six months later, they began planning their futures.
On October 7, 2024 when war broke out, Raz was at the Nova Music Festival and Ilay was immediately called to the reserves – both their lives were cut short. Raz was murdered at the music festival and Ilay was killed in action in Northern Gaza in early December 2023.
In their memories, the Cohen and Bukobza families have decided to establish a scenic overlook in their memories in the moshav where Ilay and Raz grew up and where their families still live.
The overlook site will include a pergola, a firepit, benches and memorial plaques to Ilay and Raz describing their lives and sacrifices.
We need your help to succeed in our mission of building Eli’s and Raz’s overlook.
(Please consider giving generously. We’ll keep you updated on our progress and look forward to meeting you in the future at Ilay’s and Raz’s overlook.)
