Help Bring the Laughter Back to Nir Oz In the heart of the Negev Desert, the kibbutz of Nir Oz once echoed with the laughter of children — a vibrant, close-knit community full of life, love, and hope. But on October 7th, that peace was shattered. In a single day of horror, 1 in 4 of Nir Oz’s 427 residents were either murdered or taken hostage. Homes were destroyed, families torn apart, and the survivors — many of them children — were forced to flee the community they once called home. Today, many of those taken remain in captivity. Their absence is felt every single day. Yet even in the face of such devastation, the people of Nir Oz refuse to give up. And neither will we. We, the Jewish community and allies in Tucson, stand with Nir Oz. Together, we can help them rebuild — not just their physical homes, but their sense of safety, belonging, and joy. Brick by brick, smile by smile, we can help bring the children home to a place where they can laugh again, play again, and dream again. Because the greatest resistance to hatred is hope — and rebuilding. From the deepest sorrow, we can plant seeds of joy once more. Your generous donations will go directly toward rebuilding essential spaces for children: nurseries, daycares, kindergartens, and youth centers. The donations are intended for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Kibbutz Nir Oz and its community. They are needed for building, restoring as well as expanding the community of Nir Oz.

The contributions will be dedicated, among other things, to the building of Public Buildings, the establishment of a Memorial site, and the creation of a supportive and protected neighborhood for the elderly who will return to the Kibbutz.

The money will be used to fund the establishment of excellent and protected educational buildings for the children and youth of Nir Oz, as well as the creation of a Leisure and Sports center; the development of a center for individual and community economic development, that will strengthen the human fabric of the Kibbutz; optimal planning of the Kibbutz, including striving for energy independence, enhancing the safety and security of the community in buildings and on the roads; the establishment of a well-equipped and modern Situation Room.
