Help Us Rebuild — This Time, For Good
Hi, I’m Shoshanah.
This will be our seventh move since arriving in Israel. Every move has been an upheaval — emotionally, physically, and financially. This one comes at a particularly fragile moment for us, and I’m turning to you for help — not just to survive this transition, but to finally build a life of stability, purpose, and contribution.
From Breakdown to Breakthrough
After 30 years working as an occupational therapist, I reached a breaking point. While I loved helping others, the career left me a chronic, debilitating condition that has no cure, financial strain, and burn out. When my elderly mother came to live with us, I closed my thrift store and later gave up my OT practice entirely.
In that letting go, something beautiful began. Drawing on my background in healing, creativity, and writing, I began building a new direction: meaningful books, workbooks, courses, handmade gifts and my art — all rooted in purpose and emotional growth. The truth is, the more I allow myself to do my art the more I realize I never should have been a therapist, I should have done my art from the beginning. Now I am using my skills to create a range of content that helps others.
But just as I was gaining traction, everything was disrupted again.
Mold began growing in our apartment, affecting our health and damaging our artwork. At the same time, relentless noise from neighbors robbed us of our ability to sleep, focus, and create. And now, once again, we are being forced to move — with very little warning and no margin to absorb the cost.

The above image shows mold growing on the corner of a painting by my late grandfather.
The Cost of Constant Displacement
Moving in Israel is expensive — much more than many people realize. Due to the timing of rentals, we often have to pay double rent, hire expensive movers (who regularly increase their fees at the last minute), and cover tips, replacement items, and setup costs — all while losing critical work time.
This time, we are hoping to raise 50,000 shekels to:
- Relocate to a healthier, quieter, and more stable home
- Replace damaged items and secure our creative work
- Cover the full cost of movers, double rent, and lost income during the transition
- Invest in basic tools and assistance to continue building sustainable income
- Share our work through modest advertising and outreach
This isn’t just about getting through another move — it’s about reclaiming the space and strength we need to live with dignity and serve others through the work we love.
My Husband’s Work: A Life Devoted to Torah and Helping Others
My husband is a dedicated Torah teacher with a growing YouTube channel, where he offers heartfelt classes in Chumash, Halacha, Kabbalah, and Sofrut. He’s also a spiritual life coach, guiding people from around the world — both Jewish and non-Jewish — to grow in clarity, purpose, and connection to their higher selves.
He published a Torah book a number of years ago, available on Amazon, and is continually producing content to uplift and inspire others. His teaching touches lives, offering wisdom and light to people navigating real struggles.
But as with many spiritual vocations, the income it brings — though meaningful — is simply not enough to cover massive, unexpected transitions like this.
If you’d like to support his work in addition to this campaign, you can:
- Subscribe to his YouTube channel and share it with friends
- Watch and comment on his videos to help increase visibility
- Book a session for one-on-one Torah learning or coaching
- Purchase or share his Torah book as a way to spread Torah and support our family
Why We're Asking
We’ve always tried to give, to uplift, to create. Asking for help isn’t easy, but we believe deeply in the value of what we are building — and in the power of community to help each other through hard times.
If this story resonates with you — if you’ve ever felt displaced, if you’ve ever tried to rebuild from scratch, or if you believe in the value of creativity, Torah, and healing — we ask humbly: Please partner with us.
Every contribution, large or small, helps.
Every share helps.
Every kind word lifts us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for being with us.
With love and hope,
Shoshanah and Eliyahu Shear
