**Honoring the Memory of Lidor Makeis: A Torah Scroll for His Soul**
We invite you to join us in a meaningful endeavor to honor the memory of our beloved son, Corporal Lidor Makeis, may his memory be a blessing. Lidor was tragically taken from us on October 7th while serving at his base in the Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration. He was just 19 years old.
To elevate his soul and create a lasting tribute to his life, we are undertaking the sacred task of commissioning the writing of a new Torah scroll in his name.
**Join Us in This Special Mitzvah**
We have partnered with the Israel Gives Fund (a registered non-profit organization) to facilitate this important project. Your generous contribution will directly support the creation of this beautiful and meaningful Torah scroll. Donations are tax-deductible in Israel, the USA, Canada, Australia, France, and the UK.
**The Torah Scroll: A Testament to Lidor's Life**
We envision a magnificent Torah scroll, size 56, meticulously crafted with the utmost care and dedication. The cost of 120,000 NIS (plus VAT) includes:
* Two thorough computer proofs and expert human proofreading to ensure absolute accuracy.
* Precise sewing for lasting quality.
* A lifetime guarantee, reflecting the enduring nature of this tribute.
* A beautifully crafted ark, which you can help us choose.
Beyond the creation of the scroll itself, your support will also enable us to hold a dignified procession (estimated cost: 10,000 NIS) and a traditional celebratory meal (Seudat Mitzvah, estimated cost: 20,000 NIS) in Lidor's honor.
**Remembering Lidor: A Young Life of Light and Kindness**
Lidor was a truly special young man. In his 19 years, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and respect. He was a perfect child who treated everyone with dignity and was always eager to lend a helping hand.
He had a bright and curious mind, speaking fluent English and dreaming of experiencing life abroad. He also had a fun-loving side, enjoying playing basketball and Xbox.
Lidor's commitment to others extended beyond his personal interactions. He was a dedicated volunteer with Sach'i (Special Kindness Patrol), where he lovingly participated in outreach activities and the distribution of food to families in need. He was, simply put, a rare soul, a true angel among us.
**A Lasting Legacy**
As we embark on this sacred endeavor, we find comfort in the words: "As long as they remember me, it's a sign that I exist." By creating this Torah scroll in Lidor's name, we ensure that his memory will continue to inspire acts of goodness and learning for generations to come.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his soul find its place in paradise.
