Join Bet Torah in Supplying Fresh Produce to the Community of Shlomi

In response to the current crisis, Leket Israel is now assembling produce stands for evacuees living in hotels, to provide free-of-charge access to fresh fruit and vegetables. The project currently serves 3,000 evacuees, providing each with 5.5 lbs. of produce every week.

Through this initiative, Bet Torah is currently supplying fresh produce, through January 2025, to the members of the Shlomi community, by funding the produce stand at the Dan Boutique Hotel in Jerusalem (funds have already been raised.) While we are hoping that the Shlomi community will be able to return home by January 2025, we want to raise additional funds to continue this project past January 2025, in order to make sure that we continue to provide produce for this community, should they need it beyond January.

Your donation will go towards continuing to provide fresh fruit and vegetables at the produce stand, for the evacuees from Shlomi.

Thank you so much for your support,

– The Bet Torah Community

About Leket Israel

Leket Israel, Israel’s National Food Bank, rescues over 73 million lbs. of surplus, high-quality food annually, that otherwise would go to waste, from hundreds of farms, hotels, corporate caterers and IDF army bases. The food is distributed weekly to over 296 non-profits feeding 330,000 Israelis of all backgrounds including Holocaust survivors, families living below the poverty line, struggling immigrants, at-risk youth, and other vulnerable populations. Since the war, Leket has been providing critical emergency relief and focusing on: meals for homebound individuals and seniors, food and essential supplies for displaced families, financial support for evacuees, and assisting farmers in harvesting their crops.
