Ben, a 26-year-old former police officer, was critically injured in a terrorist attack in Gan Yavne. After surviving a coma, he now faces a long road to recovery from traumatic brain injury and paralysis. Your support can help ease the financial burden on Ben and his family as they navigate this challenging journey.

Ben's Story

On March 31st, a terrorist went on a stabbing spree at the local mall in the Israeli town of Gan Yavne. Three civilians were stabbed. One man died, and two were airlifted to the hospital.

Ben, a former Israeli police officer, was just 25 years old when he was attacked from behind while leaving the gym at the mall. The terrorist stabbed him in the head. Ben heroically managed to wrestle the knife out of his hands, but the terrorist pulled out a second knife and stabbed Ben multiple times in the head and chest.

Ben was in a coma for a month, and was left with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and partial paralysis on the right side of his body. His doctors did not think he would survive. Not only has Ben survived, he continues to fight every day to recover and regain a normal life, a journey that will take years of strength, courage, and resilience.

Who Am I?

I used to have a standard office job until October 7th happened. When I lost my job, I decided I wanted to help my country in any way I could, and volunteered in different ways until May 2024. Then I met Ben and my whole world changed. I started working as his caregiver in August, spending 14 hours a day with him at Sheba. I help him with his treatments, play games with him to help him improve his brain functionality, tend to his scars and skin, and especially work with him on his morale. His resilience is such an inspiration to me. But he still has a long road ahead of him in his recovery.

Ben will be discharged from Sheba Medical Center, where he has been receiving in-patient therapies, on October 10. Once he leaves, he will no longer receive the critical care he requires to continue his recovery. Ben will not be able to work for at least a year, and needs to continue his therapy in order to regain his strength and ability to work. I created this campaign to assist his with the costs of living and his ongoing therapies.

Ben's Expenses

Living expenses (rent, bills, food): 6,000 NIS (monthly) x 12 months = 72,000 NIS

Various therapies (physio, hydro, speech, etc...): 600 NIS (weekly) x 52 weeks = 31,200 NIS

Pressure chamber: 650 x 60 sessions = 39,000 NIS

Total requested: 142,200 NIS

Please help Ben and his family with the financial struggles they are facing so Ben can continue on his road to recovery.
