SweetFreedom does not promise a cure. It promises not to give up on the hope that one may exist - and to explore that possibility with courage, responsibility, and full transparency.

SweetFreedom is an independent initiative that grew out of a personal experience
and evolved into a community-based research framework with one central goal:

To seriously, responsibly, and transparently examine whether there is a way to halt the process of damage to beta cells -
and to explore whether a process of recovery may be possible.

Not as a promise.
Not as a miracle solution.
But as quiet, ongoing work, grounded in research, critical thinking, and collaboration between professionals and parents.

The Path to Healing - A Community-Research Framework

SweetFreedom operates within the framework called "The Path to Healing" -
an open working group of professionals, parents, and people living with diabetes,
who come together to ask a question many prefer to avoid:

Is it possible that the damage to beta cells is not the end of the story -
and that there are conditions under which the body may begin a process of recovery?

This is not a treatment framework.
It is an investigative framework.

What Do We Actually Research?

Our work focuses on reading, analyzing, and critically examining up-to-date research,
while integrating real-world, lived experience, around topics such as:

  • Possible causes of the initial damage to beta cells
    (viral, toxic, metabolic, and others)

  • The relationship between early injury and a secondary immune response

  • The question of reversibility: can the process be halted, slowed, or partially reversed?

  • Biological, nutritional, and environmental conditions that may enable recovery

The work includes:

  • Systematic reading and analysis of research

  • Formulation of working hypotheses

  • Tests and measurements for learning and understanding

  • Cautious use of supplements and supportive tools as part of an investigative process

  • Open and transparent documentation of insights and conclusions

Every direction explored undergoes cross-checking, internal critique, and documentation - even when it is ultimately set aside.

SweetFreedom operates in the space between academic research and lived, real-world experience -
a place where clinical questions meet real lives, and knowledge is built carefully and responsibly.

Why Do We Do This?

Because diabetes management, however advanced, does not answer the deeper question.
And that question deserves to be asked.

We choose to act from a place of hope -
not as a substitute for critical thinking, but as a complement to it.

Our hope is not based on certainty,
but on the understanding that the history of medicine is full of cases where what was once considered impossible
became testable - and eventually achievable.

We could have chosen to settle for optimal management.
We chose to ask an additional question.
Not out of irresponsibility -
but out of the belief that if recovery is possible, we have a responsibility at least to search for it.

SweetFreedom does not seek to replace existing medicine,
but to complement it through inquiry that is not limited to a single paradigm.

Clear Boundaries

SweetFreedom is a community-based investigative initiative.
It does not constitute medical treatment and does not replace personal medical advice.

The activity focuses on learning, inquiry, and knowledge-sharing -
with full responsibility toward people living with diabetes and the complexity of the condition.

Why Do We Turn to Supporters?

For work like this to truly exist,
it requires stability.

Our current goal is €7,500 per month, which allows for:

  • Continuity in the research work

  • Decision-making without constant pressure

  • Deeper exploration of complex and sensitive directions

  • Maintaining transparency and ongoing knowledge-sharing with the community

Support does not fund a result.
It enables the serious and responsible pursuit of one.

How the support is used in practice

At this stage, support is primarily intended to ensure the stable existence of the research framework and to enable its leadership, coordination, and the laying of groundwork for gradual expansion over time.

The funds raised through this campaign are intended, among other things, for:

Management, leadership, and coordination of the research activity, including in-depth research work, coordination between professionals and disciplines, data analysis, and development of research directions - including compensation for the project manager and the active team, in accordance with the scope of activity and the group’s progress

Compensation for consulting professionals, in fields such as conventional and complementary medicine, nutrition, clinical research, biological monitoring, and related disciplines

Advanced laboratory testing and professional analysis of results, including tests not covered by standard healthcare systems, in Israel and abroad

Procurement of nutritional supplements and supportive materials, for the purposes of testing, learning, experimentation, and research deepening

Operational and infrastructure expenses for the research activity, including the use of professional tools, digital systems, knowledge infrastructures, and online meetings

Organization of and participation in working meetings, think tanks, study days, and professional conferences, in Israel and abroad, for the purpose of research deepening, knowledge sharing, and professional collaboration

Travel, flights, and accommodation for professional activities, including participation in conferences, working meetings, professional consultations, and visits to clinics and laboratories

Participation and Partnership Paths

🟢 Community Path

€25-125 per month

Intended for parents of children with diabetes and for people living with diabetes who wish to stay connected to what is happening, receive ongoing updates, read research summaries and insights, and be part of a learning, investigative community.

This is an open and accessible community participation path. It does not include direct involvement in the research work itself, but allows participants to closely follow the process as it unfolds.

🟦 Research Partner

€750-1,250 per month

Intended for individuals who wish to be active partners within a serious investigative framework.

Participation enables the continuation of research and testing, deeper exploration of complex directions, and the stable operation of the working group.

Partners receive in-depth updates, are included in discussions around dilemmas and research directions, and are granted full transparency throughout the investigative process.

🟪 Anchor Partner

€2,000-2,500 per month

Anchor partners are the individuals who make it possible for the framework to exist over time.

Participation includes deep partnership in the process, periodic in-depth conversations, and recognition as a founding partner of the framework.

This is not a management role, but a form of partnership that enables real, stable, and long-term investigative work.

Professional Collaborations and Sponsorships

SweetFreedom is open to collaboration with companies and professional bodies
in the fields of nutritional supplements, testing laboratories, herbal medicine, and biological monitoring.

Partnerships are based on:

  • Responsibility

  • Transparency

  • Shared learning

With no commercial promotion and no obligation to recommend.

Who This Is For - And Who It Is Not

This is for those willing to stay with the question.
For those who understand that deep processes take time.
For those who choose to believe that more can be discovered than is currently known.

It is not for those seeking a quick solution or an emotional story.

Joining the SweetFreedom Framework

You can support SweetFreedom through any of the buttons on this page - the "Donate" button or the "Join" buttons for the different paths. Support can be provided as a one-time contribution or as monthly payments, which grant participation in one of the paths according to the selected amount.

⚠️ Donations are not tax-deductible.

In Memory of Hava Ben Ami (of blessed memory)

The work of SweetFreedom is also dedicated to the memory of
Hava Ben Ami, who was murdered on October 7 at Kibbutz Be’eri.

Hava dreamed of seeing her granddaughter recover from diabetes
and believed that one day we would understand more -
and find a way to stop the damage and allow a process of recovery.

Her quiet faith continues to accompany this path.

In Closing

SweetFreedom does not promise a cure.
It promises not to give up on the hope that one can be found -
and to explore that possibility with courage, responsibility, and full transparency.
